Choosing your wedding photographer is a big decision, with so many contrasting styles, prices, and packages. I’ve put together some answers to some of my most frequently asked questions. If you have more specific questions or ideas I’d be very happy to hear from you.
Why are your prices cheaper than other quotes we have had?
Times are tough so we’ve reduced packages for a limited amount of time.
I’m a Devon photographer and I’m aware of Devon wages!
It means that we get busy – so we are happy. A win-win. What it doesn’t mean is any reduction in service. I also work as staff on a newspaper so photography isn't my only income. It means I can keep my overheads low. This means you get a first class service and images you'll cherish for life for a fair and reasonable price.
How would you define your style of photography?
I love reportage. Capturing the natural moments of your big day, the ones that you
will remember for the rest of your life. That said, there is a lot to be said for the grandeur of formal shots.
So for your wedding you’ll have the best of both worlds to keep and treasure.
Are you open to ideas?
Absolutely. I’d be delighted to talk about what images you are looking for from
your day. Your creative input is very welcome.
Can I print my own photographs?
With the complete package – yes. The reason we have launched this popular package
is so those on a tighter budget can print their images through your favourite high
street printer. We use a fantastic lab of the highest quality with paper guaranteed to
last a lifetime. Yourself, family and friends will still be able to order via your online
gallery straight to your door in addition to the option to print the images yourself.
Are you insured?
Yes, public indemnity and my equipment. Clients can see copies on request.
Do you mind if guests take pictures?
Of course not.
Can you take a picture of my family members?
Yes. Formal group shots as well as some of your Aunt when she’s relaxed too.
When will I see my pictures?
The online gallery will go up within a few days.
Your complete cd will be with you within a 14 days of your wedding. I’d like it to be there when you get back from Honeymoon.
If you like a wedding album, they generally take 14 days once designed.
Do you do a pre wedding photo-shoot?
Yes. It’s a great way to get some relaxed photographs. Sessions are £200 inclusive, and again shot within Devon. More details here We also run sessions after the wedding with shots inunusual locations, like in the sea. They generate
stunning results.
Who will actually take my photographs?
JP Hedge. My other half, Stacey, can be on hand to help and take additional shots.
I will be your primary photographer as you will have built a relationship up with me.
How far ahead do I need to book?
By December 1st this year for the discounted deal, when prices will be going up.
2012 and 2013 are both filling up so drop me a line to check, even if it’s to pencil the date in.
Can I see an example of how our web album will look?
Yes. Contact me and I can show you a recent examples from start to finish. This way you get to see entire examples, not just cherry picked images.
How does our webpage work?
Log onto www.jphedge.com and enter your unique password on the front page.
That takes you straight to your gallery. You can view the images in a slideshow and it is a great tool for sharing your images after the wedding. If you’d like music added to your gallery, perhaps songs from your big day, it can be added. Images are protected with a watermark but can be shared. Friends and family can order prints directly. Popular items include canvas prints and mugs for nans!
Images are safely stored for two years so you can pop back once the wedding finances have settled down! There is no obligation to buy, this is an extra service we provide. You'll already have your own original to print how you see fit.
Can I share the web album link with guests?
Yes. There is a link under every photograph, ideal for Facebook etc.
How many pictures do you take?
Lots. Your complete CD will have over 100 images, normally a lot more.
Can you submit a photograph to our local paper?
Of course. Select the one you like best, let me know, and I’ll do the rest.
Can I see some published work?
Yes. See the current edition of Westcountry Weddings or the Coverage page
